Marten 49 Keel Case Remove and Replacement
Innovation Composites was contracted by Club Marine to remove and replace the damaged keel and carbon fibre keel case in the Marten 49 (Charlotte) which was in Western Australia.

In three stages Innovation Composites removed the keel and bulb from the vessel and trucked them back to their factory in South Nowra for testing and reassembly. It then in  stage two built a new carbon keel case for the lifting keel and shipped it and the keel back to Western Australia. Whilst the keel was in transit two highly skilled employees of Innovation Composites flew to Western Australia and cut out the damaged carbon fibre keel case. When the new keel case arrived it was fitted to the vessel. The keel was then also refitted.
The whole job tool a total of 10 weeks and involved repainting of large areas of the inside along with substantial reconstruction of the keel case area. At the end of the job and after sea trials the owner and the insurance company commented that the boat was in better condition than before the repair. This was a fantastic achievement as it was Innovation Composites for first job.
